What has Fairtrade got to do with sustainability and a transition to a low carbon way of life?

Fairtrade recognises that while we focus on promoting local sustainability we must recognise our place in the world. The Fairtrade mark is given to imported goods where producers are assured a fair price for their work. These goods cannot be produced locally, and if we want to consume them then we should ensure that we do so in the most fair way possible.

Sustainable Maidstone supports the local Fairtrade Steering Committee that promotes Fairtrade products in Maidstone.
